My name is Jamie i help men in midlife find their way home to a life that is truly aligned and on purpose

coaching For men who look fine from the outside but feel stuck, restless, or unsettled beneath the surface.

A quick hello from me

Hey man, thanks for diving in, here's a little about me…

I’m Jamie, I’m 50, I live in Stroud in the Cotswolds, and I’m dad to two daughters, 18 and 21. My life is pretty normal, really, walks, conversations over coffee, football with my mates on weekends sometimes, time with family and that matters, because the men I work with aren’t trying to escape life, they’re trying to feel present inside it again.

Why I do this work

I’m a professionally trained Co-Active coach and have spent over a decade working with men at this stage of life, but this didn’t begin as a career decision. It began as a personal one.

Years ago, I burned out badly and experienced depression for the first time.

From the outside, I looked steady and capable; inside, I felt overwhelmed, confused, disconnected and quietly lost, and like most men, I kept trying to deal with it privately. What changed things wasn’t advice, it was finally having a space where I didn’t have to pretend I was fine.

I embarked on my own journey of discovering WHO I actually was, beneath all the bravado and ego that was making decisions for me in my life… telling “what I ought to be doing by now” and comparing my life to other seemingly successful men out there.

The moment everything changed

I began my training some 18 years ago with CTI (Coach Training Institute), embarking on a year-long leadership training that would completely change my life forever! 4 x 7-day retreats in Spain, deep dive, life stripping back, unfolding weeks that would help me see the man I was pretending to be was hiding the man I was meant to be!

The rest is history! …the NEW Jamie was reborn, and I trained to become a coach to help other men find their true selves.

When life tested it

Fast forward some years later. Life then brought its own challenges. Four years ago I went through a marriage separation, and a year later my mum died suddenly from cancer. Even with nearly twenty years of coaching and personal development experience behind me, I struggled through those times. I’m only human, I’m a man, of course I did, there would be trouble if i wasnt struggling right? But those experiences deepened this work for me. Life in your 40s and 50s gets real; responsibility increases, time speeds up, and we meet situations we can’t think our way around. We have to face them and grow through them.

Over time I stopped seeing adversity as something to avoid and started recognising it as information, something that shows me where I am, what matters, and what needs to change. That’s what I now bring to the men I work with: resilience, perspective and practical ways to handle life rather than just endure it.

This isn’t a quick fix. It’s a journey we go on together, me in your corner, honest when needed, steady when things wobble. Trust builds, and the work becomes less like a service and more like having someone alongside you who understands the territory you’re walking through. Because midlife doesn’t get lighter by ignoring it, it gets clearer when you stop facing it alone.

I am truly passionate about this work - I believe that through coaching and similar supportive approaches, we can change the world for the better, one person at a time.

I am drawn to doing this work because now, more than ever, I feel we need to be the change, and I have the tools and the passion to really contribute to that.

The men who find me

Most men who arrive here don’t come because life has collapsed.
They come because it hasn’t.

They’ve built something: career, family, stability, yet underneath it, something feels tight.

Usually, they recognise themselves in one of two experiences.

The man holding everything together

There’s the man holding everything together. High functioning, dependable, relied upon. He isn’t bored, he’s braced. There’s a constant background pressure that says “If I step off this path, does it all fall down?” So he keeps going and tells everyone he’s fine, even though his mind rarely switches off and he carries everything alone. Not knowing what to do to make it better, and on a constant search for something to ease the pain.

What he needs: Is a way to feel seen and heard. Understood and help to find a way through the fog of “what next” calm the overthinking and find a way forward with awareness and tools that help steady things.

The man quietly watching his life go by

And then there’s the man quietly watching his life go by. Nothing is burning down, but every week feels the same. He’s not miserable, just flat. He notices time moving faster than expected and wonders, quietly, “Is this just how it’s gonna be now?” One grips tightly, the other drifts quietly. Both say the same words “I’m fine I guess?”

What he needs: A focused coaching conversation where a man in midlife can step out of autopilot, look honestly at his work, relationships and direction, and understand why he feels stuck even though life looks fine.

That’s where motivation returns and decisions start to feel like his again.

What this work actually is and How it helps you

So the work isn’t about fixing you. It’s about freeing you.

What I offer is structured one-to-one coaching for high-functioning men in midlife who feel successful on the outside but unsettled on the inside. We work together over two to three months with deep 1:1 coaching sessions, WhatsApp support between them, clear actions after every conversation, and optional mental fitness training (Positive Intelligence) to quiet overthinking and build resilience in real time. It’s confidential, independent and focused entirely on you.

This is for the man who’s built a life but isn’t sure it still fits, the business owner carrying constant pressure, the professional who can’t switch off from work, the dad worried he’s missing his kids growing up, the man who’s done the thinking but still feels stuck in this stage of life.

    • Calmer decisions

    • Less overthinking

    • Better conversations at home

    • Clearer boundaries at work

    • More presence with your kids

    • More honesty with yourself

    • Energy that isn’t fuelled by anxiety

    • A sense that you are steering your life again, rather than reacting to it

    • They leave with space in their head.

    • The background noise drops.

    • Decisions stop looping for days.

    • Conversations you’ve been rehearsing finally happen without exploding or avoiding.

    • You stop carrying every outcome alone.

    • You begin to notice you’re present at dinner instead of half in tomorrow’s problems.

    • You sleep more easily because your mind isn’t trying to solve your whole life at 2am.

    • Work becomes something you lead rather than something you brace against.

    • You don’t become a different man you become a clearer version of yourself.

    • They feel lighter without anything external changing yet

    • They stop over explaining themselves

    • They speak more honestly without blowing things up

    • They feel calmer around pressure

    • They trust their own judgement again

    • They realise how long they’ve been carrying tension they thought was normal

    • It’s relief. Not the loud motivational kind the quiet kind where you notice you’re no longer fighting yourself all day.

how you can get started today

Not every man arrives ready to jump straight into coaching, and that’s completely fine. There’s a natural path into this work depending on where you are right now.

free 5 day email series

If you’re starting to recognise yourself in this but still figuring things out, begin with the 5-Day Midlife Reset Email Series. It helps men in midlife understand what’s really driving the pressure, overthinking and constant mental load — and why “being fine” has taken so much effort.

Most men realise within a few days that what they thought was just stress, burnout or work pressure is actually a deeper pattern they can change.

the midlife audit

From there many men move into the Midlife Life Audit. This is where we slow everything down and map your life honestly, career, relationships, direction and wellbeing. Not motivational, not theoretical, a clear look at what’s working, what’s draining your energy, and what your next chapter actually needs.

Men often say this alone lifts a weight because they’ve never seen their life laid out with this level of clarity before.

the foundation sessions

After that come the Foundation Sessions, three weeks of 1:1 coaching with Jamie across three focused sessions for men in midlife who feel stuck or under pressure. This is where real change begins. We reshape patterns, conversations and decisions so you experience immediate shifts in work, relationships and daily life. You’re not just understanding yourself, you’re moving differently in this stage of life.

1:1 coaching journey

And for the men in midlife who know they’re ready, we move into the full one-to-one coaching journey over two to three months.

Six deep sessions with ongoing support between them, a steady place to think clearly while work, family and life continue around you. This is where the deeper reset happens: identity, direction, relationships, career pressure and the weight you’ve been carrying for years.

You don’t have to prove you’re struggling enough.

You don’t have to wait for things to get worse.

You just have to recognise yourself in this.

If you recognised yourself anywhere in this, that’s usually where the conversation begins.

“jamie helped me find myself again after being lost, i can’t thank him enough”
